Partners for Change
Our youth financial empowerment program incorporates interactive hands-on learning, social and emotional skills, experienced based learning, character development and life skills principles. We designed specialized programs modelled after our fun and dynamic Crack the Case series for youth, families, educators and community organizations. Infused with our Crack the Case fun, our supports are unbiased, objective and explores finances from a social, emotional and inclusive lens.
Our Partners for Change includes these features:
- We deliver our “Crack the Case” modules customized for your youth group.
- We can deliver your program for your youth group at your preferred location.
- Private membership from your youth group help foster a deeper sense of belonging.
- Financial well-being resources and participant handouts included
- Choose to pay-per-module flexibility or semester programming for continuity

Youth Life Skill Programs
Modelled after our fun and dynamic Crack the Case series, we customize our financial, employment and life skills programs to meet needs of your youth group. We deliver at your desired location. Mix and match courses to create a program or choose single courses.
Employee Financial Wellness Programs
Our approach allows practitioners from different disciplines to collaborate and consult together to deliver comprehensive financial coaching clinics that reduce employee stress, increase productivity and enhance mental health.
Skills for Life
Detectives have fun while learning essential foundational and transferable skills. Youth will learn how to create a budget, prepare healthy meals, shop on a budget and communicate effectively.
Employee Upskilling Programs
Upskill your team! We offer two professional upskilling pathways – Client Services and Cybersecurity. Client Services is perfect training for entry level front-line employees. With our Cybersecurity course, all employees can be the first line of defense against security threats!
School Based Programs
Engage your students with our in-school field trips series covering life skills topics such as budgeting, nutrition, career exploration and smart shopping. Collaborate with TDD experts to create programs for CTS, CTF or K & E programs or access our Ready-to-Teach lesson plans.
Forecasting Financials
A structured bookkeeping approach to generating and managing a financial plan. Designed for youth or students who are members of councils or committees.
Customized training delivered onsite or virtually with employer partners for employees. Training costs may be eligible for reimbursement under Canada-Alberta Job Grant.

Partners for Change
Whether it’s in house, in your classroom, an offsite location or virtually, we will ensure your programming is executed with excellence and targeted for your audience. Together we will co-create a program or training that is customized and facilitated by the right expert. We enhanced financial capacity within a variety of industries and businesses.

Locations & Age Range
We launched our programs in Calgary for youth between the ages of 13 and 25 years old. Based on interest, we will launch programs in other locations or for different age groups. Please contact the Registrar (registrar@thedollardetectives.com) if you would like to request delivery of our programs in other locations, different age groups or want to make a special request.
Program Options
Choose from our fall, winter, and spring semester allowing enrollment without a long-term commitment. Registration is ongoing throughout the year. Program has minimum and maximum enrolments.

Cancellations
Please be advised that cancellations made up to 30 days before program start via email or phone will be processed without a penalty. Cancellations made 30 days or less before program starts may be subject to a cancellation charge.
The Dollar Detectives’ programs are unique in the following ways:

The Dollar Detectives believes all youth should have access to unbiased, trustworthy, professional financial information. The Dollar Detectives makes great effort to offer or suggest financial support options for youth and their families.
Even though our pricing is reasonable, the pandemic has left a burden on all of us. If you are looking for payment plans, installment payments or additional subsidy outside the ones listed below, please contact us directly.
Subsidy is subject to availability based on partner financial contributions. To explore financial support availability please email us at registrar@thedollardetectives.com. Requests will be reviewed by The Dollar Detectives staff and Board of Directors.
The Dollar Detectives’ Good Deed Program
Grants to support youth participate in the Dollar Detectives programs. Key areas of support include program fees, camp experiences, optional activity fees and special events.
The Dollar Detectives’ A.C.T. (All Caring Together) Program
Grants to support youth and young adults who are facing unique challenges to becoming self-reliant and/or emergency situations. Key areas of support include basic needs, childcare, housing, transportation, employment/career development/vocational programming and education.
Home Education Funding
The province of Alberta provides home education funding to each registered home school student. Our program fees could be eligible for reimbursement under this funding, Please connect with your home education provider for reimbursement process and details.
Canada-Alberta Job Grant
Eligible employers might qualify for the Canada Alberta Job Grant (CAJG) for professional development investments.
Jordan’s Principle

Incentives
- Get $25 off per youth when you register 2 or more youth, or for referrals (referee and referrer).
- Families who enroll in both fall and spring semesters will receive $25 discount on spring semester enrollment.
